Optimization

Optimization is something I naturally focus on in every part of my work. I am always looking for ways to improve how things function, whether it is a process, a system, or a workflow. At the FAU Career Center, I have led several initiatives aimed at making our operations leaner, more efficient, and more aligned with our strategic goals.

One of the most impactful improvements I made was developing a financial tracking system that helped us reduce costs by more than 15 percent in a single fiscal year. I also redesigned reporting workflows using Power BI and Excel, which helped leadership visualize trends more clearly and make faster decisions.

I have worked across departments to identify inefficiencies and implement practical solutions. This includes streamlining CRM usage, improving survey distribution methods, automating data collection, and refining our use of enterprise systems like Workday and TouchNet. I take a hands-on approach, working directly with staff to understand their challenges and then building tools or processes that make their jobs easier.

I also led the transition of the Graduating Student Survey from one platform to another without any disruption in data quality or participation rates. That project not only improved our survey insights but also simplified how we manage and report on student outcomes.

For me, optimization is about removing friction. It is about finding simple, repeatable ways to make systems more responsive, people more effective, and outcomes more consistent. I enjoy digging into the details, testing improvements, and seeing the positive impact ripple across the organization.
